ACE Intelligence now works from two home cities: Amsterdam and Dubai. The Brains are designed and built in Amsterdam, close to the notarial, legal and financial firms the work began with. In Dubai they meet a market that moves faster than anywhere else, and the firms determined to keep pace with it.
The two cities are not a coincidence of geography. They are the two ends of the thesis. Amsterdam concentrates regulated professions where judgement, confidentiality and the record are everything: exactly the constraints a Brain is built to honour. Dubai concentrates ambition: firms that adopt earlier, decide faster and punish slow suppliers. A firm that builds for both builds something that survives contact with either.
In practice the split is simple. Every Brain is built in Amsterdam or Dubai, and then sits wherever its firm does. The work is at the firm's table either way: a founding build happens inside the client's office, not in ours, because a Brain built at a distance is a Brain built on assumptions.
Both cities keep their own clock on the about page, which is less decoration than statement of intent: the working day starts in the Gulf two hours before it starts on the canals, and the firm is built to be awake for both.
