Inside a founding build: what the table actually looks like

Short, concrete sessions with the people who carry the work, corrections as gifts, and everything owed first to the founding firm. How a market's first Brain gets built.

The first Brain in a market is built differently from every one that follows, because it has a second job. It must work for its firm, and it must teach us what the profession's pattern really is. That is what a founding build involves, and since Real Estate's founding seat is taken and others are in conversation, it is worth describing the table honestly.

Inside the office, not near it

A founding build happens inside the firm. The working sessions are with the people who actually carry the work: the adviser whose morning we are trying to prepare, the person who assembles the dossier, the partner whose judgement sets the rules. Management sponsorship matters, but a Brain shaped only in the boardroom arrives knowing the org chart and not the work. The sessions are short, frequent and concrete: this file, this morning, this decision. Abstractions are banned at the table because the Brain cannot learn from them.

What the firm actually contributes

Three things, none of them money. Its table: hours, regularly, from busy people, which is the real cost of a founding seat and the reason the position earns its terms. Its files: real dossiers to build against, under the separation and logging guarantees that cover everything we hold. And its candour: the flat statement that the Brain got it wrong, said early and often. Every correction is a gift; the shape of a Brain is mostly made of them.

What we owe back

Everything the site promises, but owed first and hardest to the founding firm: shadow before live, the full log from the first hour, a person in approval wherever the firm wants one, and the firm's memory staying its exclusive property. Later firms in the market meet a profession pattern the founding firm helped define, but never its data, never its clients, never its rules. Each Brain after the first starts from zero on its own firm's memory. The founding firm keeps the only thing that cannot be transferred anyway: the head start of having been learning the longest.

When the first workflow goes live, the founding build stops being a project and becomes a rhythm: the table keeps meeting, the record keeps forming, the next workflow starts. How the whole journey runs is on the implementation page; whether your market's seat is still open is a short conversation.
